This course is organized in such a way that we will confront and explore our own preconceived notions regarding both gossip and gender as well as restate our positions as we read, discuss, and make knowledge. Because gossip travels in a variety of ways, we too are composing and exploring multiple platforms from which we can write, communicate, and connect.In addition to “traditional” writing assignments, we will be incorporating a variety of media into our composing processes that ask us to consider how we can translate what we know about writing into other forms of media; composing beyond the essay can be scary, but you will never be alone in the process--it will be an exciting adventure. The E-portfolio will provide a space wherein you can show and position all of the polished work you have created that works together to shape and identify our key themes. Through our discussions, we will build a strong community of writers, composers, and thinkers as we work through complex texts, concepts, and approaches.
